National Day of Action-Stroller Brigade

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Join parents and kids across the country in a national day of action! Friendly stroller brigades will be taking place from coast to coast to ask our Senators for their support for taking action on toxic chemicals found in our homes and products.

Parents bear the brunt of finding safe products for their families. Join Pennsylvania moms and dads and show your support for safe chemicals, safe products and a healthy future.  Grandparents and caregivers are also invited!!

Meet us at 12:00 pm (noon) at the Mr. Rogers statue across from Heinz Field located on Allegheny Avenue. We couldn’t think of a better place to begin our brigade! From there we will walk along the North Shore and end at the fountains behind Hyde Park restaurant. Bring a few items from your child’s toy bin. We will have an XRF Analyzer gun on hand to scan toys and jewelry. You will learn exactly what metals are contained in your children’s products including lead and cadmium!

We will also have capes for kids to wear. They can participate in the fun and ask their Senators to be a hero by supporting the Safe Chemicals Act!

To register for free parking, contact Michelle Naccarati-Chapkis at mna@the-institute.org or 412-420-2290.
